For this 4×4 project, we implemented a custom dual battery setup and installed an ARB steel roof rack basket on a 2007 FJ Cruiser.
Adding a dual-battery setup to your vehicle is a great way to enhance your 4×4 adventure experience. Not only does an auxiliary battery provide an insurance policy should your primary battery fail, it also helps you get more out of your camping trip by allowing you to use an ARB fridge freezer or perhaps a dual air compressor without worrying about running out of juice. Depending on your needs, you can opt for a parallel system instead of a traditional dual-battery system, doubling the amps available to your starter motor or winch in order to get the job done, whatever it may be.
Manufactured from strong, tubular steel, the ARB steel roof rack is the obvious place for large, bulky items that are difficult to fit in the cabin of the vehicle. With additional accessories now available, such as waterproof bags and spacecases, you don’t have to worry about your gear being exposed to the elements and getting wet and/or dusty while traveling.
